Amid discussions on diplomacy and cooperation, LG Electronics created an interactive experience that allowed guests to engage directly with Korean technology and innovation. Why LG’s Tech Matters to Nigerians

Mr. Hyoung Sub Ji, Managing Director of LG Electronics, noted that innovation achieves its greatest value when it improves people’s lives. “Technology is most meaningful when it creates positive experiences for people,” he said. “What made this event special was seeing guests engage openly, ask questions, and discover how innovation can address everyday challenges. As a Korean brand that has shared a long journey with Nigeria, we remain committed to delivering solutions that make life better while supporting stronger connections between our two countries.”

The Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Nigeria, Ambassador Jeong Yo-an, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between both nations, pointing to innovation, human capital development, and strategic partnerships as key drivers of sustainable growth. “Companies such as LG Electronics exemplify the strength of Korea-Nigeria cooperation, demonstrating how innovation can translate into meaningful home appliances, energy-efficient solutions. Cultural Moments That Strengthened Ties

Beyond official speeches, the evening reflected the power of cultural exchange in building lasting relationships. Through Korean cuisine, traditional performances, Taekwondo demonstrations, and interactions among guests, the event celebrated the human connections that continue to strengthen ties between both nations. The growing popularity of Korean culture in Nigeria and the increasing global reach of Nigerian creative industries further demonstrate how people-to-people engagement is creating new avenues for mutual understanding and collaboration.

Beyond Gadgets: LG’s Human-Centred Vision

For LG Electronics, participation in the celebration represented more than showcasing technology. It reflected the company’s belief that innovation should be accessible, meaningful, and capable of making a positive difference in people’s daily lives. As Nigeria and South Korea continue to deepen their partnership, technology, shared experiences, and human-centered innovation remain powerful bridges connecting both nations.

South Korea’s National Foundation Day commemorates the founding ideals of the Korean people, often interpreted as “to benefit all humanity.” The Abuja celebration echoed that vision, bringing together diverse communities and demonstrating how innovation, partnership, and shared progress can create lasting impact for future generations.
